Butterfly applique: easy children's workshops from colored paper, felt, quilling and other handy materials

In preschools, a significant number of hours are devoted to creating applications. The purpose of these activities is to develop fine motor skills, attentiveness, diligence in children.

Butterfly is one of the common types of applique.

Contents:

Simple paper butterfly applique

You will need:

  • Cardboard, vinyl film or canvas soft plastic.
  • A4 sheet of paper
  • Scissors
  • Crayon or black pencil
  • Colored paper

How to make:

  • Copy the image onto an A4 sheet of paper, cut it out, and attach it to plastic or vinyl. If these materials are not available, normal cardboard will do. The main thing is to make sure the stencil base is tight.
  • We trace it with a pencil and cut it out. We have a ready template of a butterfly for applique.
  • We put it on the inside of a sheet of colored paper, press it tightly, outline with a pencil and cut it out.

As a result of this lesson, the child decides on their own choice of colors in which to applique a butterfly out of colored paper.

Applique of a butterfly from the palms

Materials:

  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Colored cardboard and paper
  • Eyeliner

Making:

  • The child leans his palm with extended fingers against a piece of colored paper on the colorless side. Carefully trace around the outline and cut in. Depending on age and skill, this is done independently or with the help of an educator.
  • The resulting parts glued joints "wrists" to the base of colored cardboard.

The wings are ready.

To make the body, you need to draw two shapes. Elongated oval and a circle of small diameter. Cut out and assemble the composition of the applique of a butterfly from the palms.

  • To the junction of the wings in the center with glue fix the body and above the head.
  • Provide an opportunity for a child to decorate their handicraft. Using marker pen to draw the antennae and eyes.

Applique a butterfly from geometric shapes.

The aim of the lesson is to strengthen the initial knowledge of geometric shapes. Demonstrate the possibility of making different shapes and objects out of them.

Materials:

  • Scissors
  • Colored cardboard and paper
  • Glue
  • Prepared shapes: oval, circle, square (if the collage of a butterfly is made in the middle group).

Course of the class:

  • The teacher introduces the concept of the diagonal to the children. To do this, the square is cut with scissors from "corner to corner" and we get two triangles.
  • Children have to say the names of the shapes, think how to arrange them to make a butterfly and explain their solution.
  • Apply glue and connect the elements on the cardboard.

Tear-off butterfly applique

This technique reminds children of collecting a puzzle or mosaic, so they are happily involved in the process. The activity forms neatness, assiduity and develops fine motor skills, as performing applique in this way, involves the entire musculature of the hands.

You will need:

  • Ready-made stencils
  • Glue
  • Colored paper
  • White cardboard

Execution:

  • The teacher distributes ready-made templates that are glued to a sheet of cardboard.
  • The children tear the colored paper into small pieces.
  • A small area of the stencil is treated with glue and the child puts the prepared pieces on it, combining the combination of colors independently.

Thus, the entire outline of the butterfly is filled in.

Appliqué of a butterfly by endbutting

The purpose of the class is to strengthen the skills of transforming one figure from another. Familiarization and practice of making crafts with the method of facing.

Needed:

  1. Volumetric stencil of a butterfly.
  2. Colored cardboard.
  3. Different colored napkins.
  4. Stick
  5. Scissors
  6. Glue

The course of the lesson:

  • We glue the template of a butterfly to a cardboard base.
  • From tissues children cut squares of approximately 1 cm.
  • The stick is placed in the middle and squeeze the square. Then twist it between your fingers until you get a tube.
  • The resulting tubes are placed on the stencil, which in small areas previously smeared with glue.

Applique butterfly from napkins is light, airy and very beautiful.

Appliqué butterflies from felt

Made of felt butterflies put on a finger and "move". Often used as an attribute in staging musical matinees with children.

Materials:

  • Two stencils of a butterfly. One should be larger than the other.
  • Chalk
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Two colors of felt
  • Thread and needle
  • Soft elastic bands for hair
  • Beads for decoration (optional)

How to Make:

  • Lay out pieces of felt on a flat surface on the back side.
  • Trace the stencils, the larger one on one color piece, the smaller one on the other. Cut out.
  • From the felt of the same color you have chosen for the large stencil make the body (oval and circle).
  • Connect all the resulting parts. Glue the torso to the small butterfly, then glue it to the large butterfly.
  • The resulting bright and multi-level composition is sewn to the hair band, it will be used as a ring for the finger of the child.
  • If desired, you can decorate it with beads or rhinestones.

Cloth applique of a butterfly

Perform such a handicraft with children is not difficult. A wide range of fabric, colors and ways of execution will motivate children to choose, to make a creative decision.

For the first way of making will need:

  • Butterfly stencil
  • Scissors
  • Chalk
  • Any fabric, but it is better to use guipure. The appliqué will look voluminous, and the fluted structure of the fabric will give beautiful shimmers.

How to make:

  • Stencil to the inside of the fabric, trace and cut out.

To make by the second method:

  • Scissors .
  • Guipure .

Cut a rectangle and a strip 3 cm wide.

We fold an accordion and tie in the center of the prepared ribbon of fabric (you can use a different color for contrast).

The knot should turn out at the top, so that the free edges of the tape formed a "tendrils" butterfly.

Applique butterfly in the technique of quilling

This technique involves twisting strips of paper into a spiral. Well develops fine motor skills, accuracy and assiduity in children.

Materials:

  • A sheet of thick paper of format A 3
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Watercolor paints
  • Strips of colored paper about 7 millimeters wide and about 20 centimeters long.

Execution:

  • Children cut out two strips of one color for the top of the wings and two of a different color for the bottom.
  • With a pencil roll them into small "rolls". The ends of the strips are fastened with glue.
  • On a piece of paper, we put a drop of glue and attach each spiral, which is part of the wings.
  • Cut another strip of about 10 cm. Twist it halfway, fix it with glue and attach it to the butterfly, spirals up. This is the antennae of the butterfly.
  • After the entire composition dries, the free sections of the paper canvas should be decorated with watercolor paints.

Three-dimensional butterfly applique

A simple technique that allows children to plan the appearance of a future handicraft, using their imagination. Good for developing visual memory.

Materials:

  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ready-made stencil of a butterfly
  • Colored paper.

Implementation:

  • After previous sessions leftover colored paper. Let's show the children how they can be used rationally. Cut strips of about 10 centimeters long and 1.5 cm wide. We glue the ends together and get loops.
  • On the stencil put loops from the edge to the center. The child should independently plan an alternation of colors. After that, the stencil by small sections of glue and apply the details in the same order.
  • From the scrap of dark color glue a tube and fasten it in the center.

Applique butterflies from hand-made materials

As part of this activity, children can be asked to use their imagination to name any materials from which a butterfly can be made.

For pupils in the older group, appliqué butterfly in this format is a great opportunity to form planning skills for a future product, the child takes a decision independently and learns to argue for it. And also, a rationalized approach is developed.

Types of applique butterfly from improvised materials:

  • Leaves.

You can use two sheets of maple of the same size, glued to the paper surface with joints. As done in class from palm stencils.

If they are small leaves of bushes, they are glued on the prepared stencil in the same way as the tear-off applique is made.

  • Candy wrappers.

Butterflies are obtained bright. They can be folded as a accordion fabric or work with colored paper.

The list of tools is not extensive.

The child has to choose not only the materials, but also any way of making an applique. By the age of 6 years, they know the above techniques and the use of improvised means in application is a way to consolidate and generalize previously acquired knowledge and skills.

The creative process helps the formation of the child as a person. The concept of beauty and attractiveness emerges. According to the results of their own work, children learn to evaluate their work.

Development of combinatorial and compositional skills, attentiveness, diligence, accuracy, correct aesthetic perception of the world around is the result of applique classes.

The more time is given to such activities, the more teachers contribute to the formation of a harmonious and comprehensively developed personality of the child.
