Each master is free to choose independently which recipe to use for the work. In total, there are two main recipes.
The first recipe is performed without boiling.
He is the easiest and will be suitable for those who only begin to master this technique.
We will need:
- glue (preferably PVA) - 2 teaspoons;
- starch - 2 tablespoons;
- cream (the cheapest or unnecessary) - 1 tablespoon;
- soda - 0,5 teaspoon;
- A container in which to mix the ingredients;
First mix the cream and the starch, then carefully pour in the baking soda. Add a couple of teaspoons of glue, and once again mix everything thoroughly. Knead the ready mass to a dough-like form and smear it with cream again to avoid sticking to your hands and better storage.
Recipe for making cold porcelain by boiling
Prepare in advance glass or teflon cookware, it is not recommended to use cookware made of aluminum.
We will also need:
- starch - a medium sized cup;
- cream - 1 tablespoon;
- glycerin - 1 tablespoon;
- Glue (preferably PVA) - a medium-sized cup;
Pour the glue into a container and set it on the stove, turning on the fire of medium strength. Add the cream and glycerin as quickly as possible, constantly stirring the mass. Gradually pour the starch.
At this stage, the mixture will resemble cottage cheese. Then a lump will form from the mass. It should be kneaded by hand until it is a dough and then a homogeneous plasticine.
The mass will be hot, let it cool slightly. Excessively thick dough can be diluted with water.
Recipe for flexible cold porcelain
It often happens that the result is not fully satisfied - the object made of cold porcelain turned out brittle and quickly covered with cracks. In fact, flexible porcelain is an improved and refined method of the first two recipes.
Here you will need to increase the amount of glue and refine it. You need to make a boil of glue. You need to slightly evaporate moisture from the glue. This explains that the glue for this method will need a third or half as much as in the standard recipe:
- By boiling, bring the amount of glue to the usual proportions.
- An acceptable ratio can only be found experimentally - the type of glue and starch will make a big difference. Remember that potato starch requires more liquid.
- You can evaporate the excess water from the glue in the microwave oven on 700 W. The container should have high walls, because the glue foams when heated.
- At the same time, the room must be ventilated - open a window or turn on the hood, as there will be a caustic smell of the sting.
- Be careful - some types of glue will form a film or lumps in the process of cooking.
- Very important - you can't pour glycerin into the boiling glue!
- Wait until the glue has cooled a little, and then add the rest of the ingredients as in normal recipes, but remember to stir everything thoroughly.

- Keep in mind that a colored mass hardens faster, so prepare it in an amount that you can use at a time;
