  • Before you begin, prepare the newspaper tubes: cut the width into four pieces and twist with a needle or other thin object into tubes. Fix them with glue. Paint them in the desired color for the product.
  • Weaving the product begins with the bottom. To do this, an even and odd number of parts and weave them together in staggered order.
  • After the bottom of the product has reached the desired size, put on the resulting bottom of a jar or pot, making the edge, swapping parts in places.

To work, you need to tear strips of newspaper. Make glue: mix PVA glue or wallpaper glue with water at a ratio of 2:1 or flour with water at a ratio of 1:1.

Cover the desired object with newspaper soaked in the glue. For a good result, it is better to make three layers of newspapers, while letting each layer dry well. After all the work has dried well, remove the glued object and paint the resulting piece with paints.

Using papier-mache, you can make a box, ladybug, fruit, dishes and other items for playing and decorating the room.

The quilling technique

The quilling technique involves twisting strips of paper 5 mm wide:

  • A sheet of double-sided colored paper is cut into thin strips and each strip is twisted with a rod or knitting needle into a roll.
