Preparation of natural materials for handicrafts

Brought from the woods materials are carefully cleaned from insects and debris. Cones are dried in an oven at 2500 for half an hour or in a microwave oven for 1 minute at maximum power so that they open.

Leaves are dried either by ironing with a hot iron between layers of paper or, in the old fashioned way, between the pages of a book.

Shells are usually washed during the vacation, but upon arrival they should be washed again with chlorine (you can use "Belize") and dried on paper.

Stones should be washed with soap and water and dried.

Seeds, moss, lichen can be dried on paper on a table or windowsill, and twigs simply put in a vase without water.

Dried materials, if they are not used immediately, put in a large box or container so they do not break and dust.

Cones crafts

Cones take a leading position among the natural material going on crafts for kindergarten. During a walk in the woods or the park, the desire to stuff their pockets with them arises involuntarily!

Pine trees make a beautiful hedgehog, lamb, owl and penguin, deer, and spruce trees can be used to make butterflies with wings of dried leaves, a fox and a squirrel. And if you attach loops to the animals, silver-plated or gilded, you're ready to make full-fledged Christmas decorations.

Cones are also used for interior decorations. Paint them in different colors and put them in a wide transparent vase - what is not a decoration for the table? Or make a Christmas wreath, decorating the front door, candlestick.
