Hanging shelves from ropes and wooden boards
One of the best and practical ways to decorate an empty wall or niche is to place hanging shelves on it. Especially since the process of making them is extremely simple, and they will look very effective!
Materials and tools for work:
- wide wooden boards;
- hand saw;
- drill;
- thick and strong rope;
Making:
- Take a board and saw off pieces from it, blanks to the length of the future shelves.
- Drill four holes in each of the pieces.
- Insert the end of the rope into each hole and fix it with a strong and voluminous knot. You can leave a tassel on the end for beauty.
- Hammer a dowel into the wall and attach a hook to hang the shelf.
- Place the shelf on the wall and adjust the length of the rope.
- Arrange useful items or decorations on your hanging shelf.
Remember. It's not a shelf for heavy things! Fill it wisely.
Crochet rug
More recently, the owners of such "granny" rugs ruthlessly discarded them, considering them unnecessary and obsolete. But a few years ago, interior trends have changed, in fashion came the style of Boho.
And now needlewomen knit "granny" rugs, only with slight changes, and use them in the interior.
You will need:
- large crochet hook;
- knitted yarn or old t-shirts;
- a lot of patience and assiduity.
How to make yarn from an old T-shirt?
- Take an old T-shirt and fold it in half sleeve to sleeve.
- Cut off the sleeve and neck part with scissors.
- Fold the t-shirt in half again, leaving an indentation of 4 - 6 cm at the top.
- Cut strips from it 0.5 to 2 cm wide, as you wish, without cutting through the indentation left behind.
- Next, cut the resulting billet, obtaining a continuous thread.
- Coil it into a ball.
Yarn ready!
If you are using ready-made yarn, start knitting right away:
- We'll dial in about 6 or more air loops. Your constraint will be where the rug will be placed in the future. To do the calculation, divide the width of the final product by 2 and subtract this figure from the length. It's worth keeping in mind that the yarn stretches by about a third!
- Knit in a circle, if possible, alternating colors. This way the product will be more interesting. Fix the first and the last stitches made with thread.
- Fix the rug on a cloth or rubber. So it will be stronger and last longer!
Hanger of clothespins
A great way to organize small items is to place them on a hanger. This method is good for storing scarves and handkerchiefs, kitchen towels and napkins. You can make such a hanger out of ordinary clothespins and an unnecessary rectangular board.
Attach the clothespins by one side to the board with glue or a small nail - and you can hang the light objects on the improvised hanger.
With a coat hanger like this, everything you need is right at hand and in order!
