How to draw a star - easy drawing workshops with pencil, ruler, paint

There are several options on how to draw a star. It can be represented as a geometric shape and as a celestial body. To depict a five-pointed star, you do not need to have artistic skills. It is enough to act on a simple template.

Even five-pointed star.

This is the most popular type of drawing. Beginning artists can choose the way they like it best on their own. After all, they are all quite simple.

By hand

Draw the geometric shape of a five-pointed star by hand, without using auxiliary tools such as ruler and compass:

  1. We start by drawing the horizontal line. Draw it to the right.
  2. We draw a line down and to the left. It should end slightly to the right of the previous line.
  3. We continue the line up and to the right without taking away a hand from the sheet of paper. End it above the central point of the figure.
  4. Draw a line identical to it down and to the right.
  5. Connect the last point with the starting point. This is the end line, completing a star shape.

Draw a star shape ready.

Flat star can be drawn on a notebook page, focusing on the cells:

  1. Circle the cell in the center of the notebook sheet.
  2. Descend to one cell down. Step back one cell to the right and left, trace these cells.
  3. Step back one more square down and to the right, then down and to the left. Circle both cells.
  4. Do the same for the third time.
  5. Go down again and circle the five cells to the right and left of the last circled cell. These will be the ribs of the star.
  6. Circle the squares diagonally, going down/right and down/left.
  7. Mark the bottom vertices of the star to be drawn. Lead a path of cells to them.
  8. Connect between each other part of the cell drawing.

The result is an even five-pointed star, drawn cell by cell.

Using measuring tools.

Use a compass to draw the star:

  1. We draw a circle on a sheet of paper.
  2. Divide it into four equal areas by drawing perpendicular straight lines passing through the center inside.
  3. Each quarter is divided into two equal halves.
  4. We divide in half the two adjacent areas at the bottom vertical line and at the top horizontal line.
  5. The second area from the bottom vertical line is also divided in half.
  6. Erase all lines except the last divisions and those that create areas near the top horizontal line. We leave them in the form of four dashes on the circle.
  7. From the bottom dashes step up a little and put one more division next to each one.
  8. From the top indent down a little, measuring a little longer distance. Put a division.
  9. Connect the top of the upper segment with the new bottom divisions with a straight line.
  10. Connect the new top straight line divisions.
  11. Complete the figure of a star with two remaining straight lines.
  12. Erase all lines except the original.
  13. Draw straight lines from the center of the circle to all corners of the star.

The result is a three-dimensional star with convex faces.

It can be used to decorate a holiday on the Great Patriotic War. For example, it can be presented on May 9 or February 23.

Take a protractor. Use it to measure angles to make the star even:

  1. Put the protractor on the paper and trace the rounded part with a pencil.
  2. We apply it to the bottom and complete the circle shape.
  3. Place the tool to the right and mark an angle of 72°.
  4. Leaving it in the same position, mark 144°.
  5. Applying the protractor zero mark to the last point, again measure 72° and put a mark.
  6. Do the same with a new mark. The circle has five marks.
  7. Connect the first and third marks with a straight line.
  8. Also connect the first and fourth mark.
  9. Draw a horizontal line from the second to the fifth mark.
  10. Draw a line from the second to the fourth and from the fifth to the third mark.

By measuring the angles of the planned figure precisely, we are able to draw a perfectly straight five-pointed star.

Let's draw a flat star without using a compass or protractor. A ruler, a pencil and the knowledge of a few values are enough for this work:

  1. We set the length of the star's edge. Denote it by the letter R. Draw a horizontal line of this length.
  2. Divide the length by 1.55. At the distance of this value draw a parallel line of the same length.
  3. Exactly in the middle of these two segments draw a line that intersects them.
  4. On the upper horizontal line, measure two segments from the center to both sides. Make them equal to R/2.
  5. On the bottom horizontal line measure R/3 lengths.
  6. Measure upwards distance R/2,6 on the vertical line.
  7. Draw the figure by the points that make up the vertices and angles of the star.

The drawing of a five-pointed star shape is ready.

Five-pointed star can be drawn in another way. It requires a ruler and a compass:

  1. Take the ruler and draw a straight horizontal line.
  2. Put the compasses on the left side of the line. From the top and bottom of the horizontal line we mark parts of the circle.
  3. Draw a vertical line intersecting the horizontal line, passing it through the parts marked with the compass.
  4. Draw a circle on the axis drawn on these points.
  5. Set the compass needle to the left end of the horizontal line. Put a pencil just beyond the middle of the segment.
  6. Mark parts of the circle on both sides of the horizontal.
  7. Put the needle on the center and mark parts of the circle of the same size on the left side.
  8. We draw a line that intersects both circles. It should be perpendicular to the horizontal.
  9. Place the compasses on the intersection of the vertical and horizontal. Measure the distance to the right side of the horizontal and mark a point there.
  10. From this point, use the compass to measure the distance to the top of the vertical. This is the apex of the star. Let us mark this point as number 1.
  11. From this point, measure the distance to the left and right parts of the circle. We mark the points with numbers 5 and 2.
  12. From the new marks, measure the distances to the lower parts of the circle. Put there 4 and 2 points.
  13. Connect the third point with the first and the fifth with straight lines.
  14. Connect the fifth point with the second, the second with the fourth, and the fourth with the first.
  15. Erase unnecessary lines. The result is the correct five-pointed star.

Despite some complexity, this method also works.

Stars in the sky

Let's try to create a watercolor drawing of a scattering of stars in the sky. This is a very difficult task, and you will need some watercolor experience.

A cosmic scattering of stars

Let's paint a multicolored cosmic sky. For the next picture you will need a masking fluid:

  1. Mix yellow and blue paint on a damp piece of paper. These are the main colors of the firmament on which the stars will be drawn. Dry the base with a hair dryer, then spray the masking liquid on it with a toothbrush. These are the blanks for the future stars.
  2. Wet the paper to create a color gradient. Apply dark and warm colors on top of the paper. The latter are added near the horizon. Use colors such as purple, gray, ultramarine, orange and yellow. Create a yellow glow to the stars, the space near the spots from the masking liquid.
  3. Now we need to remove the masking liquid. To do this, use the eraser. At the bottom of the sheet, draw a dark forest, depicting the branches with dark colors. Highlight the branches on the background and smudge them with a flat synthetic brush.

By using the masking fluid we have created magic on the sheet of paper. The drawing of the night sky is complete.

A winter starry landscape.

Let's paint another landscape in which we will depict a winter sky, studded with stars:

  1. Smudge a dark blue shade across the top edge of the sheet.
  2. Stretch it down into 3/4 of the leaf, using water. It should be a transition from blue to blue background.
  3. Unevenly brush across the background of the sky to make it more natural.
  4. Leave the white earth at the bottom of the leaf. Make the horizon line smooth to create a hilly terrain, or sharp to depict a mountainous surface.
  5. Add a darker shade to the top edge of the sheet.
  6. In the middle of the sheet, draw the Milky Way. To do this, remove all paint from the brush and wash the oblique strip in the picture with water.
  7. Now you can move on to depicting the stars. For this, take white gouache or watercolor of sufficient consistency. Sprinkle the paint on the sheet, tapping the brush with the handle of another brush.
  8. Add strokes to the snowy horizon, using light blue paint to highlight the surface.
  9. Draw a thin outline in some places.
  10. Draw a few spruces on the horizon with a dark and light shade of blue.

Winter night landscape with stars ready.

Anyone can draw a star on a template.

Five-pointed star is a memorable simple figure with clear rules of construction, familiar to everyone since childhood.

This image is often found in objects of human culture. To depict a small star in the sky, it is enough to make a point with white paint on a dark background.
