Preparation of soap

To melt the soap at home correctly, you can do it when the material is prepared beforehand. When the product is taken in one piece, it will take a long and tedious time to melt. In this situation, to achieve the formation of a homogeneous consistency will be very difficult.

To simplify the procedure, you can grind soap. Therefore, there is no need to rush to throw away the remaining pieces of soap.

Some housewives collect them in a container, such as a jar, and after filling them, melt them and turn them into a whole fragrant bar. This comes out to be a good savings. For example, in 1 year, so many pieces can be collected that they are enough to form 2-3 whole bars.

Let's look at ways of shredding the bast:

  • cutting the pieces with a knife;
  • the use of the usual grater;
  • a food processor.

The grater should not be the one used for groceries, but an old one, specially allocated for these needs. It is advised not to use the smallest holes, because it is difficult to get the mass through them, and it is advised to choose medium and large holes.

The use of the grinder is characterized by convenience and the output will turn out beautiful shavings with equal-sized components.

For a food processor, you need to pick up the proper attachment with knives.

Subsequently, they will need to be washed with special scrupulosity, so as not to leave a trace of soapy layers.

How to soften overdried soap?

Such a raw material is crumbly and difficult to grind. Olive oil is good here.

Fat of vegetable origin is added to the soap, take 25-30 ml per 1 kg of solid raw material.

It is not advisable to exceed the contents of the oil, seeking to form a more gentle composition, because it will turn out too greasy. There are other ways to make the soap softer.

We are talking about different liquids, these include herbal solutions, cream, milk. They will form the final product into a more useful and enhance its usefulness.

Selected liquid should be 1 tbsp. per 1/2 kg of soap, it should be completely absorbed into the contents.

Now the chips with components need to stand for 2 hours. Next you can carry out the melting of the soap.

How to melt soap at home?

To come out to melt soap while at home, you need to resort to some kind of heating device. This can be:

  • cooktop;
  • microwave oven;
  • oven.

Depending on your choice, choose the proper cooking utensils for the microwave or water bath:

  • scoops;
  • heat-resistant glasses;
  • pots with lids;
  • Spoons with elongated handles or wooden sticks for stirring;
  • molds for pouring the soapy substance.

Instead of special molds, you can take, for example, boxes of processed cheese or sauces. You can take them of various sizes. If you do not have a wooden spatula, you can take it from a reliable, high-quality plastic. Such accessories can also be made of ceramic.

In a water bath

For this process, you will need to put one dish with soap in another with water and put it on the stove. It is convenient to use small pots made of metal. To melt the product with this method, you need to do the following:

  1. An oversized saucepan is filled with water. The pot is poured with the liquid to 1/3 share. You will need so much water that it will not splash when boiling. You need to make sure that the water does not get into the pot with the soap.
  2. A smaller saucepan or bowl is placed on top of the large pot.
  3. The soap shavings prepared beforehand are poured into a small bowl. It should not overfill the container more than half full. Otherwise, it will be difficult to mix the shavings. Additional components may not fit into the substance.
  4. The entire structure should be placed on the stove and turn on the heating. It is necessary to heat on low heat.
  5. In the process, it is necessary from time to time to stir the mass with a spatula or spoon.
  6. If it is planned to use additional components, they must be poured after the soap melts. At this step, it becomes a translucent mass, resembling jelly.

Dyes, oils and other additives are added to the mixture and it is mixed well. The additives should disperse evenly over the base.

The melted mass is poured into molds, the mass at the output should be thick and not very liquid.

To remove bubbles from the soap, you need to tap on the table, on which the molds are located.

The poured substance is left in the molds until the final solidification.

In the microwave oven

Using the microwave will make it even faster and easier to melt the soap bars. You are not allowed to stick a pot in it, but dishes labeled approved for microwave use may be used. To melt the prepared shavings you need to make:

  1. The grated soap is placed in a proper glass or plastic utensil. It is optimal to pick a small dish and not fill it to the top. It is allowed to melt the soap in 2-3 batches.
  2. A container with finely chopped soap is placed in the microwave, which is turned on for 3-3.5 minutes, on medium power.
  3. At the end of the allotted period, the dish with the soap mass is removed from the top and its substance is stirred with a spatula or spoon.
  4. The dish with almost completely melted soap is placed again in the microwave and again the device is turned on for the previously described time.
  5. The above step-by-step procedure is repeated until the mass is completely melted. It is expected to become a liquid and homogeneous substance. Each time it must be stirred.
  6. Oils and other selected additives are poured into the dissolved mass.

Now the mass is poured into the forms. When the forms are made of plastic, then you need to grease them with vegetable oil. The liquid mass stays in the forms until the final solidification.

On the stove

Soap can also be melted on the stove. Prepare the molds where the mass will be poured beforehand. They can be greased with sunflower or other vegetable oil, for easier removal of the ready bars. You will need to make:

  1. Cut the rest of the soap into cubes. It is good when they come out the same size for even melting. Another option is to process the items with a grater, shredding them as finely as possible.
  2. A pot one-third full of water is placed on the low heat stove. It is expected to heat, and on top of it is placed a container with small portions of soap.
  3. The product in the process should become liquid and take a homogeneous mass without lumps. As you go, it is necessary to control, so that the mass does not boil.
  4. If you want, you can add oils, dyes and fragrances. Herbal decoctions and a small amount of milk components can be used. The prepared mass is poured into the spread out molds, splashed with alcohol and lightly tapped on the edges to remove air bubbles.

The filled molds are put in a cold place for two days. When the soap has settled and cooled, then you can gently remove it from the mold, pre-spin a knife between the form and the product.

To give a second life to the remnants of soap and melt it yourself into a new product - it is not difficult and will succeed for every person who sets a goal.

You will need the proper utensils, which are not used for cooking, and instruments for melting the substance. Follow the recommendations and you are sure to succeed.
