Ideas for handmade hedgehog crafts

The hedgehog looks great in the form of applique on paper and in the form of figures made of dough and plasticine. It can be cut out of paper and molded, knit and sewn.

A hedgehog made of fruit and candy will be a landmark on the holiday table at a children's party. There are many ideas in creating a prickly animal, and it can be made in any ways and variations.

From cones

Cones are one of the materials that perfectly imitate thorns, so they make excellent hedgehogs. When the natural material is collected, you need to work with it before you start making the craft:

  • In an unnecessary pot, put cones and boil them in boiling water for half an hour to get rid of resin, dust and dirt.
  • After boiling, the cones open completely. Now you need to dry them and make the body of the hedgehog.
  • The animal's muzzle and legs are made of brown clay.
  • In place of the nose can be attached a small chestnut or roll a ball of black plasticine. Eyes are made of white.
  • Glued to the thorns glue fungus or small apple of paper. You can glue a dried leaf or flowers.
  • The hedgehog can be made on a stand, which is covered with dry grass or leaves.

From a plastic bottle

If you want to make a large hedgehog, you can take a two-liter bottle. The main thing is to have enough coffee beans or cones to make prickles all over the side and top of the container, imitating the body of the animal:

Workflow:

  • Cut an unlabeled bottle into three equal parts. Insert the top and bottom of the bottle into each other and glue with a glue gun.
  • Coat the bottle with dark color paint or wrap with dark yarn, which is planted on the glue.
  • Draw or glue eyes and mouth.
  • The lid of the bottle will act as a spout. It should be black.
  • On the body of the hedgehog glue hot glue coffee beans or cones.
  • On the thorns glue mushrooms of plasticine or yarn, leaves, or flowers. There are many options and they are all good.

Such a hedgehog can decorate the kitchen, and the aroma of coffee will fill it.

Made of dough

This material is easy to mold. Therefore, it is often used for crafts. Dough dries and can be colored with felt-tip pens or paints.

To make a hedgehog, you need to knead salt dough. Take one cup of salt and two cups of flour. Mix the ingredients and add a glass of water. Add two teaspoons of PVA glue to the ready dough. Now you can sculpt the figure of a hedgehog.

It can be vertical or horizontal on legs. Immediately, while the dough is not dry, start poking sunflower seeds into the back with the sharp side up or cells broken off from the cone.

But you need pliers for this, because it is difficult to break off the cells with your fingers, especially a child. The finished figurine of the hedgehog must dry for a few days. After that it can be painted.

With plasticine

The molding technique is performed in the same way as from salt dough. But the clay is already in color, so it is not necessary to paint it:

  • The nose of the hedgehog should be round and black. Eyes are made of white clay.
  • For thorns, take cones or sharp shells, sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds painted gray and black, coffee beans or Christmas tree needles.
  • On them you can place fruits and berries made from paper and yarn, as well as from plasticine.
  • The hedgehog can be placed on a stand of plastic, which is decorated with twigs or leaves.

Made of cardboard.

We need to take:

  • sheets of brown and gray colors;
  • PVA glue;
  • felt-tip pens;
  • scissors;
  • compass.

Workflow:

  • From brown cardboard cut two circles and cut them in the middle.
  • Three halves bend into a cone and glue.
  • At each cone make the top and side notches - these will be thorns.
  • Bend the cuts to make the thorns more puffy.
  • We insert the cones one into another and glue.
  • From gray cardboard cut a smaller circle for the head. Cut it in the middle and roll cone.
  • Glue to the body to the head was commensurate with it.
  • On the muzzle draw a felt-tip pen eyes, nose and mouth.

From paper

Hedgehog paper can be made in the form of application. To do this, decide on the background on which to place the animal:

  • You can take green cardboard to make it look like a lawn. Now start cutting out the body and head of the hedgehog from colored paper. Use brown paper for this.
  • Black paper is cut into sharp triangles and then glue them in the form of thorns, with the sharp end up to the body. And you can cut out a template from brown paper torso with thorns and glue to the head.
  • Nose hedgehog make a circle of black. Mouth of the red strips. Eyes of white paper.
  • The hedgehog must have legs. They also are cut from paper and glued to the body. On thorns can glue berries and mushrooms, autumn leaves and flowers.

Important! Each child individually represents how to be a hedgehog. Therefore, if children show imagination, it is impossible to impose an adult's opinion on them. Let the child, by virtue of their age, create their own original handicraft, which will be different from all the others.

Such an activity is useful for children of all ages. After all, they are learning to learn about the world. And if you constantly impose your opinion on a child, but he will never learn to imagine and see the world around him with his own eyes.

  1. We take foil and make two different balls of it: one for the head and one for the body.
  2. Wrap two balls with one piece of foil.
  3. Put plasticine on the foil and make a figure so that the foil is not translucent. The muzzle is made of brown clay, and the body is made of black clay.
  4. Make a spout and eyes out of plasticine and put them in their proper place on the muzzle.
  5. Stuck sunflower seeds tightly in the body of plasticine so that it is not translucent.
  6. On the needles of the seeds attached acorns, which make mushrooms and twigs.

If you make a podium for the hedgehog, it can also be decorated with dry grass and flowers, put beside the hedgehog, made of clay, apples and berries.

  4. Two ends are glued to the back and sides of the hedgehog, and the rest of the thread is glued to create barbs.
  5. From the yarn make pompons of different colors and glue them on the thorns - they will be berries and fruits, which the hedgehog likes to wear on the back.

  • plasticine;
  • salt dough;
  • a plastic bottle;
  • Skein of yarn in brown.

When the workpiece for the body is ready, then you can begin to create the prickly area on the back and sides of the hedgehog:

  • We separate the spruce thorns from the twigs and paint them in black gouache.
  • After they have dried, then insert them into the back and sides.
  • Beautiful will look prickly hedgehog, if the tips of the Christmas tree needles, painted in black, apply white gouache.
  • Attach different leaves and flowers from the herbarium to the thorns.

From toothpicks

A hedgehog can become a table decoration if you insert toothpicks into a peeled melon cut in half or into a pear and thread grapes or berries, slices of apples or bananas on them. In place of the eyes you can insert a dried clove, and instead of the spout - an olive. Such a hedgehog is a great decoration for the holiday table.

From autumn leaves

Nature's material helps children learn more about nature and see it as a material for crafts. Unusual hedgehogs are obtained in the form of applique, which is made on cardboard and the role of needles are spikelets of wheat.

But not always a field of wheat is near the house, so you can collect natural material, and leaves from the trees are always available to collect. They also make fun and colorful hedgehogs. How to make a hedgehog from leaves and we will tell you.

Workflow:

  • Cut out of cardboard the shape of the body of the animal. You can use a template.
  • On the background of any color cardboard glue template.
  • Use markers to draw the nose, eyes and mouth.
  • Leaves from maple and rowan, willow and linden, birch and fruit trees can not be cut with scissors to give them the shape of needles. They are already pointed on one edge. If the leaves are round, it is better to cut them into sharp strips.
  • Glue the leaves from the back and move on to the head of the hedgehog.
  • Glue the leaves in several layers, overlapping each other. So you get a puffy hair hedgehog.
